We are now paying to maintain, protect, and keep Pakistan's nuclear weapons safe.
This is our staunchest ally in the region and for eight years we feted this country with glory for their support: For which we must thank the neoconservatives who controlled our foreign and military policy during the last administration.
Less that 16% of the Pakistan public have anything nearing a positive view of the United States. It should be no surprise that the Pakistani military is reluctant to engage the Taliban in their own country after all, the Taliban was created by the Pakistani Military and now we are finding that the Taliban is killing our soldiers with our own ammunition. Most likely that ammunition came from the Pakistan Military.
Then today, it was announced that:
FORT HOOD, Texas – The Army psychiatrist charged with killing 13 people in a shooting spree at Fort Hood made or accepted wire transfers with Pakistan, a country wracked by Muslim extremist violence, a Republican congressman said Friday. It makes no difference which way the money went because most of the terrorists return unused funds right before they believe they are going to act as they have no further need for the funds.
Texas Rep. Michael McCaul, the ranking GOP member of the House Homeland Security Intelligence Subcommittee, said people outside the intelligence community with direct knowledge of the transfers also told him Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan also had communications with Pakistan.
"He may have friends or relatives or whatever and this could be totally (innocent)," McCaul said in a telephone interview. "But if he is wiring money to Pakistan, that could be terrorist financing. If he was receiving money from Pakistan, that is more significant."
McCaul said he does not know the direction of the transfers and communications, only that they passed between Hasan and Pakistan. He said the lack of additional information is why Congress should launch an investigation.
If you want to label Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan a terrorist then you have to label Pakistan a state that supports terrorists and terrorism....and for the last eight years we have financed that state.
Either we attack and destroy Pakistan and wipe out, once and for all any and all places where the terrorists can hide or we give up on the absurd neoconservative world view that being a big military power can overcome the lies and deceits and the political intigrue that is Pakistan.
Pakistan is not a state; it is nothing more than the last vestiges of a Ottoman harem and it is time that we quit being a concubine.
